Announcing Cloud Power GR 2013
I’m proud to announce the second edition of our free educational technology event March 19th, 2013 in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area, Cloud Power GR. The event is hosted by BizStream and NVINT, providers of cloud hosted applications and cloud hosting services. The goal is to explain cloud computing in a way everyone from the seasoned IT Director to the typical business person can understand. You can read my recap from the first edition of the Cloud Power GR event too to find out more.
Paul Schenkel, Sales Manager, Partner Hosting & Cloud Services of Microsoft will be doing the introduction and kicking off our event. We are very excited to have Paul as a part of this event because he truly is subject matter expert when it comes to "The Cloud". Paul has also spoken at cloud computing events nation wide, and most recently in Washington DC. He also just happens to be a graduate of the University of Michigan. I'm trying not to let the Michigan Sate fan in me say more here, so I will just continue.
From there the meat of the morning kicks off. The first major portion of the event will have three sessions. The presentations will be given by Russ Afton, Senior Solutions Architect of NVINT, and Patrick McKenney, Director of Cloud Services, also of NVINT. The talks will center around What's New in Windows Server 2012, Disaster Recovery in the Cloud using Microsoft's Data Protection Manager, and Communication in the Cloud with Microsoft Lync.
The second portion of the event will also be broken out into two presentations. Up first will be yours truly. I will be presenting on running not only your website in the cloud, but your whole online marketing presence as well. My talk will center around running Kentico EMS and it’s capabilities of advanced online marketing features such as content personalization, lead scoring, on-line newsletters, and crm integration. I’m very excited to show off the full power of Kentico EMS 7.0. The second presentation will be given by Adam Reece of BizStream. Adam will be discussing ways to utilize cloud based applications to be more efficient in your daily routine, such as Google Apps for Business, Dropbox, Zoho CRM, and Freshbooks, to name just a few.
I should also probably mention that we will be giving away some NICE FREE STUFF. So at the very least come join us for a chance to win some cool hardware and software.
